Turn off the TV Week

This is national "Turn off the TV Week" and I must say that we are doing well. I will also admit though, I did go through some American Idol withdrawals on Tuesday (don't tell me what happened, I've taped it). We have had a lot more time to play, read books, and just get stuff done in general. It was somewhat annoying on Monday when I ran out of things to do and all I could do was cleaning (Erin was happy). I've also picked up a lovely Pod-cast addiction. They're free and I must say somewhat entertaining. On Monday I listened to a story about failed Cryogenics. Weird, but strangely entertaining. I also heard a very interesting NPR story about children and play.
Although I have missed some of my favorite shows I have found that I am more interesting when I take a break from TV. I'm not giving up my favorite shows, just the shows that aren't important. Time fillers.

Mer, this is great! I wish I had known it was "National Turn Off Your TV Week!" Although, like you, I would have had to record American Idol and LOST to watch later! :) But what a great idea! Thanks for sharing! Hope all is well with the DeSpains!

Good for you, Mer! My weakness is the t.v., it would have been a challenge for me. You have just inspired me to try it, even though turn off the t.v. week is probably already over!
